The Ohio Unclaimed Money Divisions recommends that interested individuals utilize the missing money database to find money that is not claimed in Ohio. The database is able to perform searches using names for unclaimed funds with the owner’s name (individual or corporate). Along with providing the name, the searcher has to limit the area of search by choosing “Ohio” from the dropdown choices on the page of searches.
A search in this database will yield a list of money that is not claimed related to that name. It will also provide the name of the owner, the most recent address known, the bank that reported the account, the co-owners, and the approximate value. The person who searched for the information can then apply for the money that is not claimed.
