The Orange County Clerk’s Office might have unclaimed money you need to be aware of. Look at our unclaimed checks list at
www.myorangeclerk.com. You have until September 1, 2022, to claim the money if your name appears on the list.
These are checks that were not cashed but were sent. This could be because the intended recipient moved and didn’t leave a forwarding address. Or perhaps the check was put away and forgotten about.
This list includes cash bonds, refunds, vendor payments, and cash bonds starting at four cents and going up to $5,680. The unclaimed checks list is available to all, regardless of whether you are an individual or a business.
“Our customers should be able to get the money right there,” stated Clerk of Courts Tiffany Moore Russell. “That’s why we do everything possible to help our customers claim their unclaimed checks yearly.”
Customers who have been owed restitution in Orange County should remind their clerks to inform them of any changes in their address to ensure they receive the payments.
Remember that Section 116.21 Florida Statutes states that if your money is not collected by September 1, it will be forfeited and deposited to the Clerk’s Fine and Forfeiture Fund.
