Follow these steps to locate what you own on mass.gov. :
- Visit the website
- Click here to Find Your Lost Money
- Fill in the fields with your information to be redirected.
- To narrow your search, fill out the remaining fields
- Click on Search
- Click on Start Claim to select the property you wish to claim
This search will only show assets with a value of $5 or more. You can call the Treasurer customer support at 617-367-0400 if you are looking for a property less than $5. The Massachusetts Unclaimed Property Division does not accept paper requests. You can only submit a claim online.
What happens after you submit your Massachusetts lost money claim?
The Unclaimed Property Division will contact your via email to inform you of the next steps. Most cases will require additional information in order to verify that you are the owner. While some claims may be approved automatically, most will not.
The claims process will determine how long it takes for the money in your account to show up. In most cases, however, the process takes 180 days.
Your Claim ID is used to check the status of your claim at Find Mass Money. When you submit your request, the Claim ID number is what you get.

UnclaimedMoney will submit your information and send it to the Massachusetts Unclaimed Property Division. They will then give you additional instructions. Because your basic information is sufficient, we won’t request additional information such as your Social Security Number.
