Arizona’s Department of Revenue reports having amassed an estimated arizona unclaimed property pool totaling more than $2 billion unclaimed property belonging to individuals who resided or formerly resided within its borders, some of which may soon go up for auction.
Items for sale come from abandoned safe deposit boxes, and include jewelry and rare U.S. and foreign currencies that span decades of exchange rates. An online public auction offering over 1000 options — such as an 1880 Mayfair High School class ring from 1980 or an array of baseball cards dating back to 1961 Topps featuring Willie Mays — makes up this selection of goods up for auction.
On Sunday at 5 p.m., when the online public auction closes at 5 pm., items will be auctioned off “as is” to the highest bidder and proceeds go into an account for rightful owners to claim them; last fiscal year alone saw over $47 million distributed out.

People claiming Arizona Unclaimed Property must show proof of their entitlement by providing documents proving they have the right to it, such as valid photo identification such as driver’s licenses or other identification, as well as verification that ties them back to their owner’s last known address as reported by the company claiming unclaimed assets.
